Summer at the Loren

Dear members,
I attach the menu for my first event as your new Bailli Régional. Dirk Beck from the Loren has put together a fabulous menu and idea for us as a summer event.
The theme for the evening is different that most of our events, in that we will be having courses done one at a time using different food stations. Each station will open one at a time in sequence, with the chef providing you with an overview of the food choices. As the event will be held outside on the Terrace of the Loren overlooking the lovely waters of the South Shore, there will be a variety of sitting options so the dress code will be Tropical casual with ribbons to be worn. In case of inclement weather for the evening, we will have the event inside the main building.
Our Echansons are putting together some great choices of wines to go with the courses. The Loren has added a special cocktail for the Taco Station using their specially created Loren Patron Tequila which will give you the chance to try this amazing tequila as an option to go with the station.
I look forward to seeing everyone at this event as we welcome in the summer season!
The event is on Friday, July 19th and the evening will start at 7 PM.

The courses will be served communal style on the table, not individually plated.
5 Courses: 1. – sushi (Japanese style), shiro, nigiri, norimake
2. – dim sum – multiple types
3. – fish course – black cod / octopus
4. – meat course – tenderloin with sides
5. – Mille-feuille – mango / berries / strawberry
Price is $185.00 and $195 for guests. Smart casual with ribbons. Maximum availability will be 50 and members will be accepted first except for spouses and partners.
We would appreciate if payment could be made prior to the event. Reservation should be made before October 29th unless we reach our maximum.

We will taste the second wines of the first growths and their friends!

The tasting will be held at Kim White’s residence.

“The Young Chaine committee is pleased to invite registration to our upcoming event, Thursday November 21st.
We have partnered with Miles Market and Goslings to host an educational tasting focusing on the effects of age on wine and cheese. We will be lead through a vertical tasting of three vintages (2005, 2010, 2015) of Château D’issan, a third growth wine from Margaux, Bordeaux. Paired with this outstanding wine will be three age varieties of Manchego cheese (Fresco, semicurado and curado).
Price: $50
Time: 6pm

The end of year is upon us, already! It has been a fun and interesting year for us and we are finishing in style with a lovely “Réveillon de Noël” at Beau Rivage on December 7th at 7 PM. Dress is black tie with ribbon. Price is $210.00 for members (subsidised) and $260.00 for guests.
Chef Jean-Claude is preparing a traditional menu full of flavours. We have not yet completely chosen the wines to accompany the menu but we are looking at only French wines to complete a “Tour de France”.
The menu is below, please note that we do not accept substitutions except for allergies. Please let us know if you have seating preferences. We would greatly appreciate payment before the event.
